Myself
My name is Zining Wang. My Chinese name is 王梓宁. I’m an innovative, dynamic, and passionate dreamer from Nanjing, China. I’ve always been drawn to data and machine learning, especially how they can help us understand complex systems, detect problems early, and make better decisions.
After earning my MS in Computer Science Engineering in 2019, I spent seven years at Cisco, starting with backend development for the ISE Profiler, working on a platform managing more than three billion endpoints. Driven by a growth mindset, I moved into Cisco Private 5G—an emerging technology that went on to help support the Paris Olympics—where I focused on data, monitoring, and visualization with Grafana. My journey continued with IoT Control Center and Cisco SMI, and later, agentic AI applications for monitoring and early warning in 5G platforms. Across these projects, my interest in data remained a constant, while each new challenge helped me grow—learning to navigate ambiguity, turn ideas into practical solutions, and take on greater responsibility.
Now, I’m beginning a new chapter as a Software Engineer at Amazon, working on AWS Networking. I’m excited to keep learning, push myself further, take greater ownership, and develop my leadership skills—all while bringing the same curiosity and passion to the challenges ahead.
In my free time, I’m also a mentor, speaker, and teacher, helping younger students learn computer science and discover their interests. What’s more, I’m a Pokémon GO YouTuber for fun and once ranked in the top 10 globally in PvP : )
